Fine art in Public Places in Dublin
Dublin Arts Council makes art even more accessible past creating a collection of public art for residents and visitors to enjoy. The Dublin Art in Public Places program begin in 1988 and has grown to more than 50 large and modest permanent, temporary and interactive public fine art projects today.

Riverboxes: Where Geocaching meets public fine art
Endeavor out a different version on letterboxing and geocaching with Riverboxes™!
Riverboxes incorporate a unique artist-fabricated stamp, journal and historical and environmental data for visitors to discover in Dublin. Geocoin Reveal Party: Saturday, April 9, 2022
Dublin Arts Council is jubilant the launch of this new series of coins with a Geocoin Reveal Party on Sabbatum, Apr nine from 1 to iv p.m. at Dublin Arts Council, (DAC) 7125 Riverside Dr., Dublin.
The event is costless of charge and includes a behind-the-scenes look at the popular "Finnian" Riverbox with a creator/caretaker panel featuring artist Sharon Dorsey and DAC Riverboxes coordinator, geocacher Mandi Strapp, known as MsMandi in the geocaching community.
Check out the new geocoin! The overlaid enamel coin, created by artist Christian Mackey of AURA Design Group in northeast Pennsylvania, is a keepsake that is also individually trackable at geocaching.com.
Only 500 of the rectangular coins will be minted. Participants can earn one of 350 by filling a passport with impressions from the artist-fabricated ink stamp found inside each of the 16 Riverbox vessels. A second edition of 150 coins volition be available for $xv at the outcome and at Dublin Arts Quango during regular business hours.

Patterns in Nature: Guided Nature Walk serial
Guided by an Ohio artist, participants will listen, find, gather and connect with nature. The series is inspired past Dublin Arts Council'south Fractals: Patterns in Nature project, which explores how repeating patterns reduce stress and enhance individual and customs well-existence.

Dublin Arts Council hosts a year-round Visual Arts Serial of gallery exhibitions by local, regional and international artists. Parking and access are costless of charge but during pandemic restrictions, guests must register to visit. Exclusive gallery visits can be scheduled on the website.

Tanabata Festival in Dublin

Dublin-based Japan-America Society of Primal Ohio (JASCO) and Dublin Arts Council have partnered to encourage community members to experience Tanabata, the "star festival" which takes place on July 7, the seventh day of the 7th month.
Originating from Chinese legend, star-crossed lovers, the deities of Orihime and Hikoboshi, are represented by the stars Altair and Vega. The pair are usually separated from one another by the Milky way galaxy, and are only able to meet in one case per year on this mean solar day.
When Tanabata observances began in Japan, aristocrats in the imperial court would celebrate by writing verses every bit they gazed up at the stars. During this period, a tradition of writing wishes on minor pieces of colored paper, or "tanzaku," and hanging them from branches of bamboo appeared. Bamboo is thought to have become part of the tradition for its propensity to abound straight and tall, with upward-stretching branches bearing wishes to sky on the wind.
